I participated in a marathon (I hesitate to say I "ran" it because I death marched the last 8.2 miles) and haven't been pregnant... but I think most people who use the metaphor just mean pregnancy is long. With that said, I think it's fun for YOU to compare it to a marathon because you're a marathoner and it's different when a runner uses running as a metaphor for something life-related. I like it. I have a friend who wore that shirt last halloween in a race pregnant and it is the best. You look strong and I bet you still logged a solid time. My pregnant friend ran a 5K (and placed) a few weeks ago and we were at the start, it was so cold and she's like i'm ready to be done so I can pee- and we all laughed. I know it's true and the colder temps have to make it worse!Amy Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17197087030892201936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2643275154489673929.post-54309654529175893092016-11-07T13:45:30.530-05:002016-11-07T13:45:30.530-05:00Well women who have done both say labor is much ha...Well women who have done both say labor is much harder than a marathon... so a marathon might be a breeze ;-) Tealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08392909306599288907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2643275154489673929.post-5747553907244598512016-11-07T13:44:00.051-05:002016-11-07T13:44:00.051-05:00Thanks, Joanne! I'm always reminded of a Friends episode where Joey wears Phoebe's maternity pants for Thanksgiving. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvw-G4J4Y2c) They're extra handy at this time of year! :) Tealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08392909306599288907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2643275154489673929.post-40506354378824422342016-11-06T14:47:31.297-05:002016-11-06T14:47:31.297-05:00The marathon metaphor works completely. I'm a few weeks behind you so still waiting for that milestone.
Maternity clothes are the best - how many times do you get a legitimate excuse to wear elasticated jeans? Definitely important to enjoy the perks of pregnancy.
Also, running is clearly not the cause of your running. If you didn't get out and run then you'd spend more time sluggish and tired... as is happening to me right now :DLollyhttp://runninginseries.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
